You’ll see stunning examples of local fossils at the Stonerose Interpretive Center. The Center's purpose is to further educational interests to encourage scientific study and to preserve the fossils for public enjoyment.
Admission to the Center is free, however, if you wish to go dig for fossils that is a separate activity that requires a fee. Digging for fossils is a great inexpensive experience for adults and especially for children. This is a very unique activity -- you are discovering 49 million year old fossils, and each person is allowed to keep up to three fossils.
