Perched on a cliff overlooking the Cape Disappointment lighthouse, the mouth of the Columbia River and the “Graveyard of the Pacific”, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center tells the story of the Corps of Discovery’s arduous voyage across the continent and arrival at the Pacific Ocean. A major renovation in 2005, added interactive features that detail the 18 days the Corps spent in Pacific County. The Center is located in Cape Disappointment State Park. With its trails, beaches, rain forests, lighthouses, interpretive programs, and more, the Park is popular for day visitors as well as overnight stays. Among its highlights is the first installation of the Confluence project, designed by Maya Lin. Small admission fee. Discover Pass required.
