Our founder Julius Boehm (1897-1981) was a Swiss-Austrian born in Vienna, Austria. His Grandfather was a candy maker and his father was a piano tuner. Julius developed mountaineering skills that enabled him to escape the Hitler tyranny in 1939, when he fled to Switzerland. From there he came to the Pacific Northwest in 1941 and opened his first candy business in 1943. Boehms produces an extensive line of chocolates and candies.
Boehms offers self-guided tours of their factory. Through the windows along the side of their factory, you can view the steps of the candy production. Best times for viewing are Monday to Friday between 9 am and 2 pm. The retail store is open seven days a week.
Guided tours are also available for a fee in June through September.
