A quick stop off the I-82 freeway puts you at a fun stop -- the Teapot Gas Station. This landmark comes from a political scandal of the 1920’s, and it is now listed on the National Historic Register.
Zillah has equipped this quaint landmark with visitor information that is usually open during the day.
Restrooms are available, and parking is easy. Since 1891, Zillah has been a pleasant community first founded by the construction of the irrigation canals that brought water to the sagebrush hills to the north. Today much of these irrigated lands are very productive vineyards lying within a few miles drive from Zillah.
Zillah was named in honor of Miss Zillah Oakes, daughter of Northern Pacific Railroad’s president. Northern Pacific helped bring the irrigation water to the uplands of Zillah.
