richard brooks, president & ceo of zumiez corp.
Rick has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Zumiez since June 2000. From
August 1993 through June 2000, he served as a Vice President and our Chief Financial
Officer. From November 1989 until February 1992, Mr. Brooks was with Interchecks,
Inc., a subsidiary of Bowater PLC, as a finance officer. Mr. Brooks was with Deloitte,
Haskins & Sells, currently known as Deloitte & Touche, from July 1982 to March 1989.
Mr. Brooks holds a B.A. in Business from the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Brooks
has served on the University of Puget Sound Board of Trustees from May 2002 to the
present, where he has served on its Finance and Facilities Committee and its Audit
Committee.

Dave currently works with venture capitalists and early stage start-ups helping
them develop robust business operations and effectively partner with Microsoft.
Dave helps these new companies develop the technology, business models, and product
strategies to make them successful. Previously, Dave Drach was the V.P., CTO of
FRx Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft that specializes in financial
reporting and analytics solutions. Dave previously spent time in various senior
planning roles at Boeing Computer Services, Ernst and Young and Great Plains before
joining Microsoft. Dave holds a graduate degree in business and information technology
from Carnegie Mellon University, and an undergraduate engineering degree from the
University of Colorado.
john earle, president and ceo of Chant, Inc.
John is President and founder of Chant Inc—the first company to provide engine-independent
component software for developing desktop, web-enabled, and telephony applications
that use speech technology. Prior to Chant, he held management positions in product
planning, marketing, and industry consulting at data warehousing pioneer Teradata
Corporation. John began his software development career at ADR in the DATACOM products
division and developed the first commercial deployment of distributed database management
capabilities for DATACOM/DB—ADR’s flagship DBMS. He was the youngest software developer
at ADR to advance into product management.
