More than just a riverboat ride, MERCURY, CHICAGO’S SKYLINE CRUISELINE shows the city from a unique angle. Through early September, Mercury offers the Urban Adventure Package, a 90-minute tour of the city’s lakefront and riverfront skyscrapers and bridges, plus free admission to the John Hancock Observatory, 1,000 feet above downtown Chicago (adults, $35; kids under 12, $15).
On the 90-minute Lakefront Fireworks Cruise (adults, $28; kids under 12, $10; kids under 3, free), get a front-row seat of the Navy Pier fireworks; the tour also highlights Buckingham Fountain and the Chicago River Lock. For dinner on the boat, feel free to pack a picnic basket.
